How to Pick a Niche You Will Not Abandon

The selection criterion nobody uses, and the only one that predicts who is still posting in month four.

The wrong criteria

• Highest commission — irrelevant until you have traffic
• Lowest competition — usually means no money in it
• What someone told you is hot — it will not be by the time you arrive

The one that works

Could you write a hundred posts about this without researching every one?

That is the whole test. A hundred posts is roughly three months at a workable pace, and three months is about when compounding starts. If every post needs an hour of research first, you will stop at post twenty. Everyone does.

How to check before committing

1. Write twenty post ideas in one sitting. No research. If you cannot, that is the answer.
2. Check whether you would read them yourself.
3. Check that products exist at a price worth promoting — the maths page shows what "worth" means.
